On the occasion of World Wildlife Day, an awareness camp and rally were organized by Sabuj Bahini.

March 3 is observed as World Wildlife Day. To mark this occasion, Sabuj Bahini, Berhampur organized an awareness program in Ramguda village under Kukudakhandi block, focusing on wildlife protection and controlling forest fires. The event was attended by the Berhampur Divisional Forest Officer Amlan Nayak as the chief guest, Ranger Rajat Kumar Mishra as the guest of honor, Ramguda Sarpanch Kamini Nayak, and local representative Tuna Nayak. Villagers of Ramguda, forest staff, and teachers and students of Karanjei Sevashram were also present.

Since Ramguda is an elephant movement area, discussions were held on elephant conservation and how villagers can stay safe from elephants. With the onset of the summer season and rising temperatures, incidents of forest fires are often observed. Therefore, awareness was created among villagers and students on how to control fires at an early stage.

Ganjam district is rich in natural beauty and is home to wildlife such as elephants, blackbucks, Olive Ridley turtles, and peacocks. The Forest Officer emphasized that it is our responsibility to protect these animals. Discussions were also held on conserving endangered wildlife and promoting the growth of various species in the future.
