Honoring Tradition While Protecting Nature Through Conscious Action

Today, the organization Berhampur Sabuja Bahini carried out a respectful immersion of abandoned Ganesha idols. These idols were carefully collected from various ponds across the city and immersed in a specially prepared temporary pond to ensure proper and eco-friendly disposal.

This initiative is an important step toward protecting the environment and maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings. By preventing the idols from polluting natural water bodies, the effort helps preserve aquatic life and promotes sustainable practices. It also raises awareness about the need for responsible celebration and post-festival management.

The members and volunteers of the organization worked with great dedication to complete the entire process smoothly and respectfully. Local residents appreciated the initiative and supported the effort to keep ponds and water bodies free from harmful waste materials. The temporary immersion arrangement was made following environmental guidelines to minimize pollution and ensure safe disposal practices. Such activities encourage communities to adopt eco-conscious methods during festivals and inspire collective responsibility toward nature conservation. The initiative also highlighted the importance of using eco-friendly idols and sustainable materials in future celebrations.
